Center for Women & Enterprise Dedicates 2017 Gala Celebration to Susan Loconto Penta

Cambridge, MA - April 3, 2017 – This year, the Center for Women & Enterprise (CWE) Auction and Gala Celebration event was dedicated to Susan Loconto Penta, Co-founder and Managing Partner at MIDIOR Consulting, in recognition of the more than 15 years of work she has given the organization to help it fulfill its mission of helping disadvantaged women start and grow their own businesses. The marquis fundraising event drew more than 285 supporters to the Boston Renaissance Hotel on the evening of March 31.

Over the past decade, Loconto Penta has served in various roles on the Board of Trustees including, head of the Finance Committee, other roles, and for the past four years as Board Chair. During her time as Chair, the Center for Women & Enterprise:
  • Opened 3 new centers: New Hampshire, Vermont, and the Veterans Business Outreach Center of New England (VBOC)
  • Launched online classes for skills training
  • Brought the Community Classroom program to 45 cities and towns to foster small business growth
  • Piloted a Microloan Program in Rhode Island to provide affordable business loans to low-to-moderate income entrepreneurs
Susan Loconto Penta said in her remarks, “My work on behalf of the Center for Woman and Enterprise has truly been a labor of love.
